In my initial consultation with FLEXIT, I somehow found the gumption to state that I wanted to work on my core strength. I knew I would have to confront some vulnerable, emotional places. But the decision was mine, and I had a coach who was confident in me, who challenged me with care. Emet keeps things interesting, bringing new movements and info bytes to each session. I found myself feeling curious and interested with each workout. Emet accompanies you on a journey of your making, crafted with skills of body science and an approach of compassionate care. Our sessions are fully tailored to me, meeting me where I’m at, and inviting me to where I can go. As a person living with a medical condition and chronic pain, I was fearful of engaging a personal trainer. The dangers of COVID-19 to my compromised immune system, coupled with my need for in-person coaching, added to my stress. Emet met me where I was at—both physically and emotionally—and did her research about my health conditions and physical barriers. Working out is generally not my idea of fun, but as an older woman with borderline osteoporosis, I have to exercise to stay healthy and strong. Emet has done the unthinkable: she’s created an exercise program that I actually enjoy! Maybe it’s because she takes such care to tailor the program to my needs, building on my strengths and gently guiding me through my weaker spots. Maybe it’s because she keeps things interesting by introducing new exercises, while building on earlier ones. Maybe it’s because she’s so encouraging and makes me feel like a rock star at the same time as she carefully corrects my stance, position and breathing… and pushes me just a wee bit harder. Most likely it’s all of the above. Emet is simply the most careful, caring, personalized coach I’ve ever worked with, and the first one I’ve met who truly understands the needs of older clients.

I initially reached out to FLEXIT because its values and approach align with my own. I had previously worked with an in-person trainer, and wanted to keep building my strength and endurance. I was at first uncertain about training via Zoom, but with Emet's guidance I invested in a few pieces of equipment and have found it to be extremely fun and effective. I've discovered that virtual workouts can be equally challenging, and cues and corrections to form can be effectively observed and offered via video. Plus, I no longer have to travel to the gym, which helps me fit my workouts into my busy schedule. Emet is a skilled and motivating trainer who thoughtfully customizes our workouts based on my goals, needs, and abilities. I appreciate her personal and creative approach, and her consistent focus on form and balance alongside strength training. Plus, we have a lot of fun so I always look forward to our time together. I highly recommend her and FLEXIT!
